Delivering my local plan for Carine

My wife Liz and I live locally in Duncraig and, with our first child on the way, will be raising our family here in the years ahead.

We love everything about our community - from its beaches and parks to its friendly neighbourhoods - and I am committed to making it even better.

As part of the Mettam Liberal Team, I will deliver real solutions for Carine, driven by the right priorities to build a better future.

Meeting so many locals during this campaign has been a privilege, and your feedback has shaped my local plan.

Right priorities.
Real solutions.

The Liberals' plan to build a better WA.

We have outstanding schools in our local community and they need support to help give their students the best start in life.

That’s why I’m fighting to fund upgrades at a range of local schools - including the much-needed ‘Stage 2’ development of Duncraig Senior High School. This project would deliver a Shared Use Fitness and Performing Arts Hub, giving students and the wider community access to a world-class gym and performing arts centre.

I am also fighting for upgrades to a range of great local primary schools.

INVESTING IN LOCAL SCHOOLS

Every local deserves access to affordable, quality healthcare when they and their loved ones need it.

But sadly, after eight years of Labor’s wrong priorities, that too often isn’t the case. I’m advocating for more investment in Joondalup Health Campus as our local health hub, and if elected will fight to keep local medical services nearby after the disappointing closure of Glengarry Maternity Hospital.

These local efforts will back in the WA Liberals’ plan to fix our broken hospitals across the state.

IMPROVING LOCAL HEALTH SERVICES

Local sport clubs and community groups add so much to life in Carine.

They need a Member of Parliament who delivers for them and that’s why I’m advocating for enhanced lighting at sports grounds like Charles Riley Reserve and Marri Park, as well as more netball courts for the Carine Netball Club and other upgrades.

These investments will help keep our community connected, active and strong.

Too many locals are frustrated by gridlocked traffic and unsafe intersections.

Among the worst black spots raised with me are the intersections at Marmion Avenue and Seacrest Drive in Sorrento and Hepburn Avenue and Lilburne Road in Duncraig. If elected, I’ll work hard to fix these and other intersections and get Main Roads moving.

We need common sense solutions that work for commuters and local residents.

Recent years have seen a concerning spike in theft and antisocial behaviour in our suburbs.

As part of the Mettam Liberal Team, I’m committed to delivering 300 more police by incentivising police overtime, and recruiting 500 additional police officers over four years.

This will mean more cops on the beat at the Hillarys, Warwick and Scarborough police stations which protect our community - deterring criminals and keeping locals safe.

We’re lucky to have so much nature on our doorstep - but it needs preserving.

If elected, I’ll work with local residents and community groups to protect and enhance our amazing local parks, like the Carine Open Space.

I’ll also back in our great local Friends Groups - like the Friends of Star Swamp Bushland - and tackle coastal erosion to preserve our beaches and coastline.
